FAQs
The things people usually want to know before they get in touch.
Not currently. Grounded Living is an unregistered NDIS provider, which means we work with people whose plans are self-managed or plan-managed. We intend to go through the registration process, and will advise when we do.
Yes. Grounded Living holds public liability insurance, and our vehicles are fully insured for transporting participants. We also both hold NDIS Worker Screening Checks, Working with Children Checks, and current First Aid and CPR.
Not at the moment, sorry. Agency-managed plans can only be used with registered providers. If your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, we would love to hear from you.
If your plan is self-managed, you pay providers directly and claim the money back from the NDIS yourself. If it's plan-managed, a plan manager handles the invoices and payments for you. Either way you can choose any provider you like, registered or not. If you're not sure which one you are, ask us and we'll help you work it out.
We're based in Warragul and travel roughly a 45 minute radius across West and South Gippsland. That takes in Drouin, Yarragon, Trafalgar, Moe, Morwell and Traralgon to the east, Pakenham, Bunyip and Garfield to the west, Korumburra and Poowong to the south, and Neerim South to the north. If you're near the edge of that, just ask.
No. You're welcome to get in touch and ask questions at any stage, including if you're still working out what your plan might cover.
We have a chat, and that's genuinely all it is. You tell us a bit about what you're after, we tell you how we work, and we both get a sense of whether we're a good fit. There's no paperwork on day one and no obligation to go ahead.
Then we'll say so, and we'll try to point you towards someone who is. Getting matched with the right support worker matters more than getting matched with us.
It's a printed sheet of goals that every participant gets. You choose what you want to work towards, we work towards it together, and you collect a stamp when you get there. Goals can be anything: a distance walked, a meal cooked solo, a skill learned, a place visited.
No. Our group programs are built for people starting from wherever they're starting from, and a fair few participants have never done anything like it before. We're both personal trainers, so adjusting things to suit different bodies and abilities is the part we're best at.
They run as four-week blocks, one session a week, in small groups and outdoors where the weather allows. Four weeks is long enough to feel a real difference and short enough not to be daunting.
Not at all. Plenty of what we do is ordinary daily support: cooking, shopping, appointments, household organisation. The outdoor side is there for people who want it, and it's a big part of why we started, but nothing is compulsory.
Trudy or Damien, or both. We're a small service on purpose, so you'll know exactly who's coming to your door and you won't get a different face every fortnight.
Fill in the enquiry form and we'll get back to you to arrange a chat. If you'd rather talk than type, leave your number and a good time and we'll call you.
...a good life isn't something you get to have once everything else is sorted. It's the whole point.
